Authentic beautiful stool from Senufo tribe of Burkina Faso, West Africa. The stool is hand-carved from a single solid piece of indigenous wood. Slightly curved, oval-shaped seat is supported by four thick conical legs. Stool in African culture is very personal item that is said to be the seat of owner’s soul and used as a household object, in rites of passage and sacred. This type of stool is used by Senufo women when they do their washing. This is well patinated with a nice sheen from years of use. True craftmanship artifacts. Can be used as a decorative sculptural stool, small coffee table, or low side table.

In good vintage condition. Some signs of wear consistent with age and use.

一枚の無垢材から手彫りで作られた、西アフリカ、ブルキナファソ、セヌフォ族の美しいスツール。少しカーブした楕円形の座面は、4本の太い円錐形の脚で支えられています。アフリカ文化におけるスツールは、持ち主の魂が宿ると言われる非常に個人的なアイテムであり、家庭用品として、通過儀礼や神聖なものとして使われると言われています。

このタイプのスツールは、セヌフォの女性が洗濯をするときに使うもので、経年変化による美しい光沢を放っています。彫刻のような装飾的なスツール、小さなコーヒーテーブル、低いサイドテーブルとしてお使いいただけます。


コンディション： 良好なヴィンテージコンディション。経年と使用に伴う多少の摩耗が見受けられます。
