A unique round small stool with straight totem legs from Burkina Faso, West Africa. The stool is hand-carved from a single solid piece of indigenous wood. Stool in African culture is very personal item that is said to be the seat of owner’s soul and used as a household object, in rites of passage and sacred. This is well patinated with a nice sheen from years of use. True craftmanship artifacts. Can be used as a decorative sculptural stool, small coffee table, or low side table.


Condition:
In good vintage condition. Some signs of wear consistent with age and use.

1本の無垢材から手彫りで作られた、西アフリカ、ブルキナ・ファソ産のトーテムレッグのスツール。アフリカ文化におけるスツールは、持ち主の魂が宿ると言われる非常に個人的なアイテムで、家庭用品として、通過儀礼や神聖な儀式に使われます。このスツールは、長年の使用による摩耗が見受けられ、美しい光沢を放っている。装飾的な彫刻スツール、小さなコーヒーテーブル、低いサイドテーブルとしてお使いいただけます。
