This cylindrical container is from the Tutsi People of Rwanda, carved with great skill from a single piece of local African hardwood and traditionally used to hold honey. Features a beautiful organic form and a well-developed, used patina with satin sheen, intricately restored with artful indigenous white metal repairs. A highly prised essentials and historical artifact in the Tutsi culture.


Condition:
In good condition with wear commensurate with tribal use and metal repairs. Natural imperfections to surface.

本作は、ルワンダのツチ族による円筒形の木製容器で、現地の広葉樹を一木から削り出し、高い技術によって制作されたものです。伝統的には蜂蜜を保存するための容器として用いられてきました。

有機的で美しいフォルムに加え、使い込まれたことで生まれたサテンのような艶を帯びた経年変化が魅力です。表面には、現地に伝わる白金属による補修が施されており、その痕跡は実用と美意識が重なり合った装飾のように見て取れます。

ツチ族の文化において、日常に欠かせない必需品であると同時に、歴史的価値を持つ重要な生活道具です。


コンディション：
部族社会での使用に伴う摩耗や金属による補修が見られ、表面には自然素材ならではの不完全さが残されています。
