TEA TROLLEY Model 901

This piece is an early original example of Alvar Aalto’s Trolley, Model 901.

Originally designed as a tea trolley with wheels for mobility, its functional form reflects Aalto’s human-centered approach to everyday objects. Due to the rarity of this early production model, it has in recent years been used not for movement, but primarily as a side table within a living space.

An impressed mark can be found on the underside of the frame, believed to relate to early production batches or component identification during assembly.
Across architecture, furniture, and daily objects, Aalto pursued a consistent design philosophy in which function, form, and a deep sensitivity to the human body and lived environment quietly converge.

This work is part of the ATELIERMO collection and is not for sale. We invite visitors to experience it within the space, where the true scale, presence, and level of refinement unique to an original Aalto piece can be fully appreciated.

本作は、Alvar Aaltoによる初期生産のオリジナルモデル「TROLLEY Model 901」です。

本来はティートレーとして、車輪による可動性を備えた機能的なデザインですが、初期オリジナル作品としての希少性を考慮し、近年は移動用途としてではなく、主にリビング空間のサイドテーブルとして用いられてきました。フレーム裏面には刻印が確認されており、初期モデルの生産バッチや、組み立て時の部品識別のために用いられたものと考えられます。

建築から家具、日用品に至るまで一貫した思想をもって取り組んだアアルトのデザインは、機能と造形、そして人の身体や暮らしへのまなざしが、静かに重なり合う点に特徴があります。

本作はATELIERMOのコレクションとして所蔵しており、販売は行っておりませんが、実際に空間の中でご覧いただくことで、アアルトの家具がもつ本来のスケール感や佇まい、そしてオリジナル作品ならではの完成度を感じていただけましたら幸いです。
